THE INDEX

I draw inspiration from dreamy neo-classical Parisian architecture, ethereal haute couture runway gowns and the romantic tried and true love story of the ages. So let's be different babe and create something exactly like nothing else.

THE INDEX

This early spring rainy day elopement will give you all the feels and have you wanting to re-watch The Notebook all over again! I met Cydmarie and Kevin randomly on a sunny fall afternoon in the park in German Village. I was right in the middle of photographing another engagement session and in between locations when I saw the most adorable couple trying to take the cutest selfies of each other with the fall leaves. I approached them and offered to take a photo for them and then asked if it would be alright if I took a photo with my camera. I assured them that I would send it to them and they happily consented. I edited their sweet photo and sent it their way, a few months past and I received an email from Kevin asking me if I would photograph their elopement. UMMM yes of COURSE!!!

On a warm early spring day I documented them quietly getting ready together as Cydmarie tied Kevin’s tie for him and Kevin lovingly helped Cydmarie put on her bright blue stilettos. Kevin also surprised his bride by flying Cydmarie’s mom from Puerto Rico to witness their matrimony. We hurried down to the courthouse in the pouring rain and they tied the knot in front of myself and her mom. Afterward we made our way down to German Village where they treated themselves to a ceremonial tradition of cake-cutting at Kittie’s Cakes. We finished off their sopping wet yet beautiful day at the Hoover Dam where they danced and embraced in the rain.

It’s been a year since I photographed these two and their elopement is definitely a favorite! I’ve noticed a shift in the market trend within the wedding industry and there seems to be a lot more elopements than full weddings. If this elopement was any indication of all the fun and beauty that can come from a smaller more intimate union, I say bring on all the elopements!

Enjoy your Monday friends! xo, Jessy
