When the man you love takes up a hobby you love (but he actually strongly dislikes it) just to get the chance to be next to you, you know he’s the one! That’s exactly what Paul did for his beloved bride-to-be when they first met. They met while both attending OSU. Paul lived in the apartment below Amber and would run with her in the snow and ice just to get to know her… Fast forward in time and these two took a trip with their friends to the Shenandoah National Park in Virgina where Paul got on one knee to ask Amber to be his wife.

This now brings us to the present, this cozy engagement session took place on a crisp autumn Sunday afternoon at Prarie Oaks Metro Park in Hilliard, OH with beautiful pristine lakes glistening like diamonds of bokeh as my backdrop while warm fields of dried grass danced playfully in the wind in the foreground of my camera. The sun hid itself behind hazy clouds resulting in the most luminous soft glow engulfing these two in the warmest and prettiest of light. Basil, Paul and Amber’s bassett hound enjoyed the fresh air and the chance to explore but was less impressed and most definitely uninterested in having his portrait taken.

We then moved to our second location in the Arena District, the Union Station Arch. I swoon over detailed, hand-crafted, historic architecture especially when we were pleasantly surprised to find that the leaves where still intact and vibrant on the immaculate McFerson Commons. The sun came out and reflected vividly off of the fiery orange and yellow leaves giving me the opportunity to create gorgeous golden hour portraits for Paul and Amber. So grab some hot cider, a cozy blanket and settle in to enjoy this autumn inspired engagement session. xo, Jessy
