Today marks my first official post with my new brand and I couldn’t be more ecstatic. A lot of hard work, frustrating moments to the brink of tears and CONSTANT communication with my web designers and we are finally LIVE 100%. My goal was to bring the vision of my brand to life with a cohesive look that was elegant and classic yet modern and fresh without sacrificing the details of the little things (which if you are one of my brides you know all about ;)). I truly believe I have accomplished my vision and I am excited to share the beauty I capture on a platform that is just as chic as the images themselves. So naturally it only makes sense that I reintroduce myself to those of you who may not know me or what my brand is about.

Hi! My name is Jessy Howard and I am the owner, curator, creator and #girlboss behind The Howard Brand. Personally- I am from New England and moved to Columbus almost 6  1/2 years ago. Why Columbus? Well I came out to visit a friend in December of 2009 for a get-away and decided by the end of the weekend that I was going to move here 1 month later. I packed my bags with just $800.00 to my name and never looked back. All I can say now is that that decision to move has changed my life and I am so thankful and grateful for opportunities given to  me since moving here. You natives are so amazing and I am so honored to call this place home and to be a part of this incredible community.  Professionally- I  LOVE GLAMOUR! If it involves gold, sequins, floral arrangements, stilettos, tulle, ruffles, lace, ethereal fabrics, red lipstick, candlelight lighting, marble or neo-classical architecture I want to photograph it. I also manage a personal lifestyle blog, as well as working on a few other projects and ideas. I am a committee member for Ohio Creative Collective and love hosting events for local small businesses so keep your eyes peeled and please say hello as you will be seeing more of me!

This shoot was something I decided to do for myself. I photograph a lot of bridal boudoir and a lot of women come in during the beginning of the shoot a bit anxious understandably. I want to make sure that as a photographer and a woman I am empowering my beautiful sisters so I decided to get in front of the camera.  We are constantly bombarded with images of what the ideal woman “should” look like and a lot of times that can be draining on the mind, experiencing such a shoot definitely put me in position of empowerment. The robe featured is from an Instagram giveaway I ended up winning back in January from Plum Pretty Sugar, naturally it needed to be photographed.
