I draw inspiration from dreamy neo-classical Parisian architecture, ethereal haute couture runway gowns and the romantic tried and true love story of the ages. So let's be different babe and create something exactly like nothing else.

So I’m going to keep it real with you, I struggled to find what to write initially on this first post about myself. I mean who is actually excited about writing about themselves when there is a bajillion things to say or not to say and still be authentic and real while leaving room for some mystery… So I checked out some of my peer’s blogs for some inspiration… and I found a quote on a friend’s style post that triggered a whole litany of thoughts and ideas…
“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”
-Leonardo da Vinci
Last week I watched a Ted Talk about “selling your crap, paying off your debt, and doing what you love to do.” So many of us become victim to the unofficial script that is written for our lives to go to college, find a good job and a mate (that we can stand), buy a house, buy all the crap that goes into the house and then have kids because all of our friends are having kids… And that’s cool if that’s what you want out of life but what if there is oh so much more than just that? More than the Saturday game, more than the daily grind of Monday-Friday work and the Friday night-Sunday play? What if we have been so caught up in this script that we think we’re suppose to live that we actually haven’t been living at all?? The idea of that terrifies me.. It terrifies me more than the looks and comments I receive for challenging the scripted lifestyle. I want an authentic life with authentic adventure and for me that looks a little bit different. So I’ve been paring down… I have been cleaning all the excess out of my life to make space. Simplicity has kept my goals and priorities at the forefront of my mind. I know exactly what I want, why I want it and where I’m going. 2016 is just around the corner and I am so excited for the endeavors about to take place, the friends I have yet to meet and the places I have yet to see. The simplicity that Da Vinci mentions in his quote has provided me with clarity, focus, determination and that by default yields the sophistication that so many crave but never seem to grasp. I can’t wait to share more as it unfold but until next time…
xo,
Jessy
